As an author of any kind, it can prove to be quite challenging. To find something to write about regularly can lead to many times in which you experience writer's block. At least, this has been my usual struggle. Especially since the best way to become better at writing is to have a plethora of practice and experience.
Because of this, I often find myself staring down at the blank paper before me or the empty word document on my screen with no idea what to write. In order to overcome these issues, I have often scoured the internet and begin using writing prompts to give me a starting place. These prompts break the cycle of figuring out the stepping-off point and, in my experience, have allowed me much more in the way of being able to write even a short story where I wouldn't have been able to without it.
These prompts have come from all over the place, from Instagram, discord and even Pinterest. I have spent a good few years saving many of these prompts. In this blog, I want to use these and many other things to start a daily practice of uploading short stories. I will also be uploading fanfictions I have written in amongst the short stories.
I have always loved reading my whole life. It has been an escape from my day-to-day life when I have been struggling—allowing me to live vicariously through other's viewpoints and go on many amazing adventures.
It is why it has always been my dream to create fantastical worlds and stories. To put my stories out into the world, hoping that someday someone will pick up my book and enjoy what I have committed to paper. I want to give others the same excellent opportunities to lose themselves in written work, just like so many amazing authors gave me.
